A Simple Evening Wind-Down Ritual (10 Minutes)
Some nights you are not looking for a full routine. You just want your brain to stop sprinting.
This is a simple wind-down ritual you can do in about ten minutes. Keep it easy. Repeat what works.
The 10-minute wind-down
- Dim the lights. Lower the brightness in the room and put your phone face down.
- Warm drink or warm water. Tea is great, but any warm cup works.
- One small reset. Clear one surface or put five items back where they belong.
- Scent cue. Use a calming scent you associate with rest.
- Three slow breaths. Inhale for four, exhale for six, three times.
If you only do one thing
Do the exhale. Long exhale tells your body you are safe enough to soften.
Make it yours
- For calm: lavender or a soft floral scent
- For clarity: eucalyptus or a clean herbal scent
- For uplift: a bright citrus scent
Save this for nights when you need a gentler landing.
With calm,
